Venue and Transportation

ISMAR 2015 will be hosted at the Fukuoka International Congress Center in Fukuoka, Japan.

Arriving by Plane:

Traveling to Fukuoka, Japan is quite easy. Fukuoka offers a lot of direct air connections with international airports around Asia such as Incheon (Korea) and Changi (Singapore) airports and connecting flights to the rest of the world through Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) and Narita International Airport (Narita).
Especially, Haneda airport is very convenient for visiting Fukuoka. In case of Europe, there are direct flights from Paris, London, Frankfurt, and Munich. For people from the United States, direct flights are available from Los Angeles and San Francisco. Moreover, lots of direct flights are available from airports in all around Asia.
Connecting flights are also convenient from Haneda to Fukuoka. You can find more than 50 direct flights everyday. The journey from Haneda to Fukuoka takes about 2 hours.
Hakata Station, the central area of Fukuoka, is 5 minutes away from Fukuoka Airport by train. The trains run every 10 minutes, and the cost is 260 yen. You can also reach Hakata Station by Taxi. It takes around 15 minutes and the total cost is about 1400 yen. In addition, you can find a lot of hotels around Hakata Station. If you want to go to the venue directly from the airport, it is accessible by a train ride followed by bus which takes about 30 minutes.


Accessing by Bullet Train (Domestic Transportation):

If you want to take bullet train (Shinkansen), Shinagawa Station is the closet one from Haneda Airport. You can reach to Shinagawa station by train (Keikyu Airport Line). It takes about 5 hours from Haneda Airport to Hakata Station by train and the fee is about 22,000 yen. It should be noted that the last bullet train departs from Shinagawa Station around 18:30. If your flight is scheduled to arrive at Haneda Airport after 18:00, using an airplane is a safer choice. The last flight from Haneda to Fukuoka is around 20:00.

In addition, if you will attend to ISMAR 2015 after ISWC 2015 and Ubicomp 2015 which are going to be held in Osaka, you can travel to Fukuoka by Shinkansen. Shinkansen will stop at Hakata Station and it takes almost 2.5 hours. You can find a train easily since more than 100 trains run from Osaka to Hakata everyday.
